Medicare 2018 Annual Enrollment

Believe it or not we are once again approaching the Medicare 2018 Annual Enrollment Period!

Medicare 2018 Annual Enrollment is the time of year when Medicare beneficiaries are encouraged to consider their Medicare insurance coverage for the coming year. Here’s some valuable information as you consider your Medicare options for 2018.

  1. Medicare beneficiaries have from October 15 until December 7, 2017 to make any changes for 2018.

  2. This is the one time of year when you can make changes to your current Prescription Drug Plan (PDP) or Medicare Advantage Plan (MAPD).

  3. You can’t change your plan again until the next Annual Enrollment Period, unless you meet the criteria for a Special Enrollment Period (SEP).

Please keep in mind that if you decide to change your Medicare Prescription Drug plan or Medicare Advantage plan for 2018, we must have a completed application submitted to the insurance carrier no later than midnight December 7, 2014.

While the new 2018 Medicare Advantage and Prescription Drug plans will not be available until October 1st to review, we are currently taking appointments during the open enrollment period to review your current coverage and make recommendations for 2018.

If you are happy with the coverage you have no further action on your part is necessary, you will automatically renew in January 2018.

If, however, you have had significant changes to your prescriptions or health, require additional medical treatment or are simply not happy with your current plan, now is the time to schedule a free consultation with Compass Benefits between October 1st 2017 and December 6th 2017.  We will come to you and run a full analysis of your prescription drugs, comparing your out of pocket expense against all available 2018 Medicare Prescription plans in New Hampshire, Massachusetts, or Maine, and help you make the most cost effective choice.
